“As soon as the master blacksmith succeeded in forging the first soul gear and understood its limitations, he immediately reported to the kings.”
“The kings rushed to witness the strength, limitations and capabilities offered by the soul gears. They knew that they had no time to waste, they became willing to listen to any and everyone’s opinions on this matter.”
“After they had witnessed their astounding capabilities, they were met with a few more problems. They had no way to distinguish people from who had enough life energy to hold and bond with a soul gear and those who don’t meet the requirements.”
“They had only one way to look towards for advice. They made their way to the 7th guardian spirit and explained the situation to him to which he didn’t waste any time contemplating what they had told him. He already knew what had to be done to solve the problem.”
“The guardians had the greatest of abilities any spirit could possess. They could manipulate anyone’s life energy to any extent, if they wanted to. They could seal people’s abilities and also alter the very basic way, the life energy flew in any individual if he wanted to.”
“He decided to alter the human life force, to be able to show its own capabilities at any particular moment.”
“From that day onward, protectors were able to project their life energies to show their capabilities. The projected life form took seven shapes, signifying seven power levels. “
“The kings classified the protectors as Rank-S, A, B, C, D, E and finally Rank-Z, the guardians, which internally were classified again into 5 tiers each. With every drastic change in the capacity of the soul core, their energy symbol would change.”
Shin took a small nail and started drawing symbols on the ground, that signified the seven power levels.
“A Rank-E has a symbol of sea waves raising.”
“A Rank-D has a symbol of a shield.”
“A Rank-C has a symbol of a dagger.”
“And Rank-B, Rank-A and Rank-S have a symbol of their own spirit, but they didn’t have a spirit yet, so they had a symbol of blazing fire. And they shone in different colours denoting their tier,”
“A tier-1 would have green energy.”
“A tier-2 would have yellow energy.”
“A tier-3 would have orange energy.”
“A tier-4 would have blue energy.”
“A tier-5 would have red energy.”
“You already know what symbol a guardian has, don’t you?” Little Yui bobbed her head to show that she knew, completely forgotten about her father at that moment.
“The kings realized that everyone above Rank-C had enough energy to forge themselves a soul gear.”
“Only one-hundredth of the soldiers had considerable amounts of energy to be ranked and most of them were comprised of Rank-C, D, E.”
“But unbeknownst to the kings, the guardian spirit met with a few individuals and passed them a few orders to carry out in secrecy.”
“Realizing the situation, the kings ordered the common soldiers to look after the establishments and the ones who were ranked to keep on training. They didn’t want to squander the determination of a few people, who requested them to let them train to which they had to agree reluctantly.”
“The master blacksmith who invented the soul gear had a Rank-S Tier-2 power level. He studied and understood the flow of energy. He suggested the rankless people remaining in the camp to transfer energy into metals in his and other blacksmith workshops every day as it would help them focus energy and also build their energy-containing capacity of the soul core.”
“It wasn’t long after that, the rankless started to become ranked-E.”
“It was already past three months by then.”
“As the guardian spirit thought of proceeding to train the protectors in a more harsh way, something that the kings had not expected to happen came into play, but it was something that the guardian spirit had anticipated would happen.”
“The barrier cracked unable to withstand the dark forces any longer. It happened way faster than the divine spirit anticipated it would.”
“With the barrier half broken, the spirits awoke from their deep meditation.”
“The divine spirit sensing where the 7th guardian was, ordered the spirits to retreat south before the barrier was broken entirely.”
“Except the rangers, all the residents fled deep into the south.”
“As soon as the spirits reached the camp, they chose their partners and rushed into their bodies leaving a burning mark on their life symbols on their shoulders which soon changed shape.”
“All the Ranks-B, A, S were chosen as their partners by the spirits, but there were still thousands of spirits who had no partner. Without any Rank-B, A, or S rangers to partner up with, they decided to fight without a partner.”
“Every spirit tried to bond with the soul weapons of their partner. It was their first attempt, some failed and some succeeded.”
“Each Rank-B, Rank-A and Rank-S ranger’s energy-capability symbol changed into different shapes of wild spirits of animals, birds and mystical creatures.”
“The candidates the guardian spirits choose weren’t ready yet. But they knew that the 7th guardian always had a card to play, so they decided to play along with him.”
“It wasn’t long after that, the barrier was completely broken and all of Yodha became a blazing battlefield.”
“This marked the start of the ‘Great War of the Oldest Legends’…”
“The rangers used the five elements and many of their newly found unique abilities to fight the darkness in front of them. The divine spirit along with the six guardian spirits started to fight the seven Demon Kings, thunder filled the battlefield as they took their fight to the heights of the clouds, the divine spirit gazed at the 7th guardian who was waiting patiently. He knew that the 7th guardian had a plan so he telepathically ordered the six guardians not to interrupt or disturb the 7th guardian in any way.”
“As the great war continued unexpectedly the 7th guardian released large amounts of energy in the direction of the kings, who ranked S. Every one in the battlefield knew that if they lost the S-ranks or even one guardian spirit, the war would be lost.”
Yui jumped up from her seat with her wide, black, worried eyes “What!? Why did the 7th guardian do that!?”
Shin calmed her down and signalled her to sit down “Didn’t I tell you? The 7th guardian is a very dangerous and shady spirit to go against.”
