Crying While Filling the Pit I Dug - Chapter 97
Song Miaomiao: “…”
He named his future wife Tiger…
Shitou smiled and remarked, “The cat pretending to be a tiger, hahaha.”
At that moment, an old man shouted from a farm not far away, “Han Chuan, it’s time to eat.”
Shitou reminded him, “Your grandfather wants you home for dinner.”
Han Chuan responded to the farm not far away, “Grandpa, I’ll be right there.”
He gently placed Song Miaomiao on the ground, carried the ladder to Shitou’s house, then picked her up again and bid farewell to his friend, “See you tomorrow, Shitou.”
Shitou replied, “Let’s go swimming in the river together tomorrow.”
Han Chuan agreed, “Okay, but don’t tell my grandpa.”
Shitou assured him, “That’s for sure.”
Han Chuan hugged Song Miaomiao, stroking her fur as they walked, and said, “Tiger, don’t climb so high next time, okay?”
Song Miaomiao: “Meow.”
Han Chuan smiled and remarked, “You’re quite spiritual, understanding what I’m saying.”
Han Chuan’s grandpa’s house was not far from Shitou’s, just a few steps away. When Han Chuan entered the house, he first placed Song Miaomiao in the yard, then went into the kitchen to wash his hands.
Song Miaomiao naturally followed him, using all four limbs to keep up.
Grandpa noticed the kitten entering the kitchen and said to Han Chuan, “The mousetrap caught a little mouse today. Tiger is lucky tonight.”
Song Miaomiao: No!
Excitedly, Han Chuan exclaimed, “Really? Grandpa, where’s the mouse? Tiger seems hungry today, let’s feed her now.”
Hearing that, Song Miaomiao began to tremble
Grandpa replied, “No, it’s for dinner.”
Han Chuan couldn’t contain his excitement and glanced at the pot. “Isn’t there still soup to be boiled? Grandpa, I’ll go check.”
Song Miaomiao was trembling even more…
Grandpa, who doted on Han Chuan, replied, “Well, it’s just under the steps outside the yard.”
Han Chuan squatted down, attempting to hug Song Miaomiao, but she desperately tried to avoid him.
Han Chuan coaxed, “Tiger, come quickly. I’ll take you to eat delicious food.”
Delicious? You actually have the face to say it’s delicious? Giving your wife dead mice!
Song Miaomiao, being a kitten, and Han Chuan, a young kid, had a significant size difference. No matter how she tried to evade, Han Chuan managed to snatch her into his arms.
Song Miaomiao: No…
Holding Song Miaomiao in his arms, Han Chuan found the dead mouse caught in the mousetrap.
Han Chuan put Song Miaomiao down. “Tiger, this is your dinner.”
Song Miaomiao squinted her eyes, expressing her rejection.
Han Chuan was puzzled. “Why don’t you want to eat it? This is the cats’ favorite!”
Song Miaomiao glanced at the mouse on the ground, then rolled her eyes at Han Chuan.
Han Chuan picked up a branch from the ground and nudged the mouse towards Song Miaomiao. “Eat it quickly.”
Song Miaomiao swept the mouse away with her tail and pushed it back in front of Han Chuan.
You eat it!
Han Chuan was puzzled. “What is this for?”
He dared to force his future wife to eat dead rats? Did he still want to live? After becoming a cat demon with a human body, she would punish him by making him kneel on the shiatsu board, or do sit-ups or push-ups on it…
Han Chuan turned to his grandfather and said, “Grandpa, Tiger isn’t eating the mice.”
Nonsense, of course, Tiger wouldn’t eat mice.
Grandpa peeked out from the kitchen and asked, “Is the mouse dead this time?”
Han Chuan prodded the mouse again with a branch to confirm that it was indeed dead. “Yes, it’s dead.”
Grandpa explained, “Cats generally don’t like to eat dead mice; they prefer live ones.”
Han Chuan suddenly realized. “Oh, Tiger, just wait. I’ll catch one that is alive tomorrow.”
Song Miaomiao: Wow…
Since the kitten didn’t eat the mice, Han Chuan gave her some food from his own bowl during dinner.
As a cat, Song Miaomiao couldn’t sit on the table, so she could only resign herself to sticking out her head to eat from the cat’s bowl—she was hungry.
Stir-fried pork with green peppers tasted alright.
Fortunately, she wasn’t given raw meat.
After eating, Han Chuan went back to his room to do his summer homework.
Song Miaomiao bounced behind him, sometimes jumping onto the threshold, sometimes onto a small stool.
After half a day of getting used to it, she had gradually adapted to her body, and jumping up and down the stairs was no problem.
Han Chuan turned on the desk lamp, took out a book from his school bag, and started to answer questions.
Song Miaomiao bounced to his desk, only to see a five-year college entrance examination and three-year simulation book spread out on it.
Han Chuan said, “Tiger, don’t sit on my book. How can I do my homework if you sit on it?”
Song Miaomiao obediently moved to the side.
Han Chuan patted her head. “So cute.”
Song Miaomiao squatted on the table, wrapping her tail around herself, and peered curiously into the book—it was a math book. Every word printed seemed enormous to Song Miaomiao, giving her a headache.
Han Chuan remarked, “You love learning so much, don’t you?”
Song Miaomiao swished her tail. High school math—she had long forgotten all the formulas.
Han Chuan pondered aloud, “I saw on TV that someone could train a dog to become a master of arithmetic, and cats… should be able to do it too, right?”
Thinking quickly, Han Chuan took out a box of bear biscuits from his school bag and poured them onto the table. He selected one biscuit and placed it in a separate spot. “Come on, Tiger, this is a biscuit. It represents the number one. If you call for it, I’ll let you eat it. Come on, meow.”
Song Miaomiao played along and responded, “Meow.”
Han Chuan’s eyes widened in surprise. “So clever, you’re my cat.”
Song Miaomiao called out again, “Meow.”
Han Chuan fed the biscuit into Song Miaomiao’s mouth. “Don’t meow now. You meow once for one biscuit, and meow twice for two biscuits, okay?”
