Crying While Filling the Pit I Dug - Chapter 112
Shenmaor said, “Tang Xin, don’t worry, I will roast some more now.”
Tang Xin replied determinedly, “No, I must get the meat back.”
The two ran around the lake, and the sports committee member returned to Shenmaor’s barbecue grill. Tang Xin caught up with him, and the two of them seemed to be playing a game of cat and mouse around the barbecue grill.
The freshly grilled meat skewers were almost ready, so Shenmao sprinkled cumin on them and said, “Stop chasing and come eat.”
Tang Xin snorted, finally unable to resist the temptation of the freshly grilled skewers. She sat down to eat the skewers honestly. Seeing that Tang Xin stopped chasing him, the sports committee member also felt that it was boring. So he put the skewer in his hand on the side of the grill, and for some reason, his foot slipped, nearly causing him to fall.
Shenmao helped him quickly, accurately supporting the sports committee member’s arm. However, what neither of them expected was that their jaws bumped together, resulting in an accidental kiss.
The students around started booing. Song Miaomiao, who was eating meat with a smile, dropped the meat skewers in fright. Before she could react, she watched her brother transform from a human into a tiger, and his clothes were torn. The sports committee member was so scared that he fainted, as did Tang Xin, who was happily eating barbecue.
After that, all the students screamed loudly and fled in all directions. The crowd who came to play by the Sunset Lake also ran and screamed when they saw the scene. The grill fell to the ground, some people fell, some people cried.
Han Chuan held Song Miaomiao’s hand, and the two rushed to her brother. Han Chuan helped the stunned sports committee member and Tang Xin to find a room by the lake.
Song Miaomiao murmured, “Brother, what should we do?”
Shenmao said, “This is already…”
Suddenly, several people dressed in black leather clothes descended from the sky. One boy with dog ears took out a certificate labeled “General Administration of Demon”, while the other two brothers produced something resembling a perfume bottle. They opened the lid and sprayed it into the air. With a swift movement, the leader slapped his palm, and then snapped his fingers. Song Miaomiao, her brother, and the demons were teleported back to the office of the General Administration of Monsters.
Back at the General Administration of Demon Management, Song Miaomiao and her brother were immediately imprisoned.
Shenmao said, “Sister, it’s all my fault.”
Song Miaomiao replied, “Brother, this is also an unintentional mistake. How can I blame you?”
Shenmao sighed, “They have erased everyone’s memory. No one will remember us anymore.”
Song Miaomiao asked, “With the bottle of perfume?”
Shenmao explained, “Yes. Now our files in the human world must have been completely erased, and everyone who smells it will forget that we have ever existed.”
Unexpectedly, it had only been a week since they met, and everything had returned to the original point again.
Shenmao apologized again, “I’m sorry, sister. Han Chuan will forget you too.”
Song Miaomiao shook her head, “Brother, I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid that he will forget me.”
After going through these few worlds, almost every time starting from scratch, it didn’t matter if he forgot once; she would still get close to him and fall in love.
Shenmao asked, “Aren’t you afraid?”
Song Miaomiao replied, “As long as I can get out, we have a chance. Brother, do you know when they will let us go?”
Shenmao responded, “I don’t know either. In short, we will be locked up for a while.”
Song Miaomiao inquired, “Then… where is Tang Xin?”
Shenmao assured her, “I will go find her again.”
Song Miaomiao then asked, “Brother, is there a way to change your original form without kissing?”
The elder brother looked at Song Miaomiao and said, word by word, “Yes, that is to stop being a demon.”
Song Miaomiao blinked, “Is it okay?”
The elder brother explained, “Yes, just give up immortality and become a mortal with a lifespan like morning dew. Few demons would be willing to do that.”
Song Miaomiao didn’t hesitate, saying, “I am willing.”
At that moment, two staff members of the Demon Management Bureau, dressed in black leather clothes, arrived at the door where they were detained and announced, “Tiger, Shenmao, you are now summoned to the trial of the Demon Management Bureau.”
The Demon Control Bureau sentenced Song Miaomiao and her elder brother to one year’s imprisonment each for causing chaos in the human world. While in prison, they applied to the Demon Control Bureau to be transformed into human beings.
After approval from the Bureau, following a year and a half of tedious procedures, Song Miaomiao and her brother finally officially became human beings.
Wangcai tearfully bid farewell to them at the village. He succeeded his brother as the head of the dining group and promised to visit them in the human world when he was free. He also gave them some of his hair strands so they could contact him in case of danger.
Upon leaving the Demon Village and arriving in P City, Song Miaomiao’s brother said, “Sister, I’m going to find Tang Xin now.”
Song Miaomiao asked, “It’s been a year and a half. Do you know where she is?”
Her brother assured her, “I know the address of her house. I’ll wait downstairs for her. I can always wait for her.”
Song Miaomiao said, “Brother, I wish you all the best. If anything new happens, remember to tell me.”
He nodded, saying, “Okay, you have to take good care of yourself, and remember to contact me when you find Han Chuan.”
The two bid farewell, and Song Miaomiao took a bus. Originally planning to go to Han Chuan’s house first, she ended up getting off at the school they used to attend and decided to take a walk.
The guard at the gate of the school didn’t allow her to enter since she couldn’t show her student ID. Disheartened, she walked along the school gate and into the Xinhua Bookstore opposite the gate. That day, her brother was with her. It was the first time he saw Tang Xin, and she also watched Han Chuan buy books there.
While feeling nostalgic, she ran into an old acquaintance in the bookstore—their former class teacher.
She greeted her, “Hello, teacher.”
The class teacher smiled, “Hi, classmate, which class are you in?”
Realizing she didn’t recognize her, Song Miaomiao casually replied, “I’ve already graduated, I used to be in Class 1.”
Later, she took a bus to the community where Han Chuan lived and waited in the stairwell all afternoon. As hunger struck, she contemplated heading downstairs to find food when she coincidentally encountered Han Chuan’s mother returning home from work. They came face to face, and Song Miaomiao couldn’t help but call out, “Auntie!”
