Crying While Filling the Pit I Dug - Chapter 107
During lunch, Han Chuan came over as expected and wanted to take Song Miaomiao to the cafeteria to eat beef noodles. Her brother and Tang Xin chatted about various delicacies all the way.
When they arrived at the cafeteria, her brother sighed, “There are so many people in this school, but the cafeteria is not as big as ours.”
Han Chuan asked, “Does your family run a cafeteria?”
The elder brother held his head high and his chest out, very proudly. “I’m in a dining group…”
Song Miaomiao quickly interrupted him, “Yes, our family has contracted a school canteen, and my father is the head of the canteen.”
Tang Xin sighed, “No wonder Shenmao has studied the ninth largest cuisine in our country so well.”
Han Chuan asked, puzzled, “What is the ninth largest cuisine in our country?”
Tang Xin said, “Canteen dishes.”
Han Chuan: “…”
Several people went to the second window of the cafeteria and each ordered a bowl of braised beef noodles.
The elder brother chatted with Tang Xin about the various dishes in the cafeteria, and Han Chuan secretly wanted to inquire about Song Miaomiao’s other news, such as where she lived, what she usually liked to do, what time she woke up in the morning, whether she liked sweet or salty tofu, or eating mooncakes with five-nut fillings, and if she had pets at home…
No matter how Song Miaomiao answered, Han Chuan’s response was always, “Oh, me too, our tastes are really similar, our habits are really similar.”
Except for one thing.
Song Miaomiao said, “I’ve never had a pet before.” I’ve only been kept as a pet by others.
Han Chuan looked dejected. “I’m different from you in this respect. I once had a cat. She was very obedient, smart, and energetic. I even thought she looked like you when she was in a daze.”
Song Miaomiao: “Like me?”
Han Chuan: “I mean you both have watery eyes and look cute.”
Song Miaomiao said with a smile, “Are you complimenting me?”
Song Miaomiao was so generous, but Han Chuan felt embarrassed and said awkwardly, “In my heart, you are really cute.”
Song Miaomiao smiled and said nothing.
Han Chuan continued, “I even named her Tiger. Her pattern is very similar, yellow mixed with white. Unfortunately, Tiger is gone. I haven’t found her after searching for a long time.”
Song Miaomiao asked, “You’ve been looking for her?”
Han Chuan nodded and said, “Yes, I searched all over the area where she disappeared, but there was no sign of her, so I had to post a lost and found notice, but no one provided clues to help me find her.”
Song Miaomiao made a mental note to herself: she needed to find a chance to let Han Chuan know she was okay, so he wouldn’t worry about her.
“I’m sure your cat is fine,” Song Miaomiao reassured him. “Maybe it’s just playing somewhere.
Han Chuan nodded appreciatively. “I’ll take your words as good luck.”
Their conversation carried on until they realized the cafeteria had emptied, and they were being shooed out by the cafeteria staff. “Students, it’s time for evening self-study. You should head back to your classrooms,” the cafeteria worker reminded them.
Rushing back to class, they barely made it in before the second bell rang. But their relief was short-lived as the class teacher greeted them with a half-smile at the classroom door.
“Tomorrow, you’ll be singing nursery rhymes,” she announced. “For anyone late to class, the first offense results in standing at the podium during the class meeting, singing nursery rhymes. The second offense means I’ll send a video of your performance to your parents. Han Chuan, this is your second time.”
Han Chuan replied, “Yes.”
The head teacher nodded with a smile. “Remember, there’s still a third time. During it, you’ll be singing nursery rhymes for the whole school. Keep it up.”
The classmates exchanged bewildered glances, unsure whether to laugh or groan.
The head teacher continued, “I’ll select some songs. You all better prepare yourselves after evening self-study. Don’t come to me tomorrow claiming you can’t sing. Let’s see… Song Chaowang, you’ll sing ‘Blue Mouse and Big-Faced Cat’!”
Miaomiao’s elder brother looked perplexed.
Then, the class teacher pointed at Song Miaomiao, saying, “You’ll sing ‘Two Tigers’, Han Chuan, ‘Little Lamb’, and Tang Xin, ‘I Have a Little Donkey’.”
The students erupted into laughter, already anticipating the entertaining spectacle to come.
…
Early the next morning, Song Miaomiao and her brother found a cup of fragrant soy milk on each of their desks. Song Miaomiao nodded tacitly at Han Chuan in front of her to express her gratitude.
However, her brother looked puzzled. “Who left this on my desk?”
Miaomiao pulled at his school uniform hem. “Shh, it’s him.”
Understanding dawned on her brother. “Please thank him for me.”
Miaomiao nodded. “Sure, I will.”
As Tang Xin entered the classroom, her brother announced to Miaomiao, “I’m going to take the rat porridge to Tang Xin.”
Song Miaomiao said with a smile, “Go ahead.”
…
After morning self-study, the math class representative arrived to collect the homework. Song Miaomiao realized she hadn’t done any homework at all. She pulled out the paper and glanced at it. Oh no, she hadn’t done math in ages.
Feeling overwhelmed by the mathematical formulas, she decided it would be best to find a classmate to copy from.
Before anyone could ask, Han Chuan slipped over and asked, “Miaomiao, didn’t you do the homework?”
Song Miaomiao frowned. “This question is so difficult, I don’t know how to do it.”
Han Chuan replied, “I know this one. Come on, let me explain it to you.”
Song Miaomiao blinked and smiled. “Okay.”
O(∩_∩)O Haha~ It seems like a perfect opportunity. If he didnt know how to answer the questions, the male lead could unleash his eighteen seduction tricks on .
Han Chuan really wanted to share all the solutions he knew with Song Miaomiao, but time was limited. So, he could only explain one or two. Consequently, they made arrangements to study together at noon, in the evening, the next noon, the following night…
