After transmigrating into the cultivation world, the school topper was reborn - chapter 6
Although she lived in her uncle’s house, she saw no hardships. Her uncle had only two sons, the aunt took her as her daughter. Before the age of seven, she didn’t even know that her uncle and aunt were not her parents.
She went to elementary school at the age of seven. She didn’t have an official name at that time. Her aunt had always called her “Abao Abao” because she had no hukou*. She had only been studying in a private preschool in town for two years. Her aunt called her parents many times, to ask them to name her.
The mother hardly had any affection for this daughter who was raised in her mother-in-law’s house for so many years. She just said, “You name her. Her generation is named after a star, so just name her Xingyue, Xingyang, pick one in line with them.”
“How can you do this? You can’t pick one name? The child is going to elementary school soon and we still use her nickname.”
The aunt was angry, she simply named her as a part of her family. She was given her uncle He’s surname and was named He Xingchen, in accordance with Su Xingyue and Su Xingyang names.
She had been He Xingchen for more than twelve years and Su Xingchen for eight years. The former He Xingchen seemed to be forgotten. The hukou and her names were all changed to Su Xingchen. He Xingchen was gone.
When she said that she was called He Xingchen, no one accepted it.
After removing the makeup and washing from head to toe, she wiped her hair with a towel. She originally forgot which towel was hers. When she saw the towel on the towel rack, her memory suddenly became clear.
In order to distinguish everyone’s towels, there was a word on the label of each towel. The two towels on the front row had the word “Yang” on them and the two rows on the back were “Ye” and ‘Nai’, she saw two towels with the word ‘Chen’ hanging on the hook of the foot towel at the end of the towel rack.
She couldn’t remember which towel was for her face, which one was for bathing. She only distinguished them by color, the pink one was for face wash and the blue one for bath. So she took the pink towel and wiped her hair.
To be honest, she had the urge to cut her hair. It had been dyed yellow and the bangs were dyed blue, and the hair ends were dyed red. Maybe for the sake of coolness, a few strands of pink were also spotted, but her hair roots had grown for more than two inches.
It was really colorful.
She quickly scrubbed the clothes she had changed and hung them on. The old lady watched her dry her clothes and reprimanded her, “You washed your clothes, then now do I have to do your cooking? I asked you to wash your clothes, you didn’t even reply. When you saw the dirt on the floor of the house, couldn’t you mop it?”
Su Xingchen was ignoring her nagging. She put on her shoes and ran downstairs.
There was still a lot of money left for her given by her dad for the hospital bill. There were several barbershops in the community. She found the nearest one and sat on a chair in front of the mirror. She pointed at her dripping hair, “Cut all the parts that are not black.”
The younger brother of the barbershop with earrings on a coin-sized ear hole stepped forward. He twisted a strand of hair, rubbed it and looked at her face, smiling, “If I cut it all, only an inch will remain. You don’t need to cut it at all. I’ll fix it for you and dye it black. ”
“How much for that?”
The brother handed over a price list, “As long as it’s more than two hundred, you get a 50% discount card, so if you come later to wash your hair and cut it, you will get 50% off.”
Su Xingchen glanced at the price list and closed it neatly, “Cut.”
The younger man in the barbershop looked at her, she didn’t look like she was able to get a card. He just told her that information because of his professional habits. He didn’t say much after hearing her reply. He picked up the scissors and confirmed again, “I will cut them in a line? “
“Cut.”
“I’ll trim them after?”
After she nodded, the younger brother took a clipper very neatly and pushed it till her back hair. Then he carefully trimmed it.
Such a small private barbershop generally didn’t cut hair like a large chain store. But his technique was also good. After half an hour, a clean and clear person appeared.
Su Xingchen was tall, and had a small face. Her eyes were slant, her nose was high, her lips were red. Even if she cut her long hair, she did not look like a tomboy. It completely displayed a clear and beautiful image.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Su Xingchen finally felt more pleased.

I mean imagine giving her up as a child and then forcing her to be filial just because she is their “daughter” and coupled up with the continuous comparison to the siblings. Just hateful.
Aliandro
Aww, I’m imagining her with cute chestnut brumble hair. Also death to the granny.

Maybe the reason why she didn’t just stay with her aunt is cause kids usually want to be with their real family, thinking it was their real home. But as you grow up, you won’t even care anymore about those stuff and just live with your adoptive parents.
Aunt probably let Xingchen go since she believes there is where she is suppose to be. Plus, she doesn’t want her baby daughter to live in the small village with her. Thinking she deserves a bigger place since her real family lives in the city.
Wonder if Xingchen is going to continue treating her aunt as someone close to her or a stranger….

@mya aila I second your motion. I also hope she could reconnect with the He family and her aunt. At this chapter, I can only see that her aunt (and her family) is the only one(s) who treat her as their family’s children.

Is she gonna change her name back to He or is it gonna remain Su till the end?

I hate how child abuse is so common in china and how child protection service is basically nonexistent. She should run away from home

That would be bad. If you have never seen it there’s a movie named “Hardcore” stars George C. Scott. It shows how badly running away can go in America. In China, it’s a 100 times worse. They have an enormous human trafficing problem.
